UNCRFP students will have direct financial support (up to $20,000) through the Flagship Program that can be applied to both the pre-Capstone summer study-abroad as well as the Capstone academic year in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Flagship funding is also available to support domestic internship opportunities that allow students to utilize their developing Russian language and culture skills during their undergraduate career.

Students enrolled in the Russian Flagship program receive preferential consideration at the federal level for competitive U.S. government scholarships designed to fund study abroad opportunities such as the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS), Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, and Boren Scholarship programs that can also be applied to both required overseas Flagship programs.
